A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel in Portland, ME to provide comprehensive legal services in tax, trust, and estate matters. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience advising clients on complex estate planning, business succession, and tax planning.

Duties

• Research and analyze tax laws, rulings, and regulations related to trusts and estates.
• Author high-quality written materials and oversee others in doing the same.
• Oversee estate and trust administration, including probate and fiduciary compliance.
• Manage relationships with sophisticated clients independently.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff both in-office and virtually.
• Mentor and support the training of other attorneys.
• Assign support work to associates, paralegals, and legal assistants.
• Present educational materials on developments in their area of expertise.
• Accurately account for time spent supporting clients and the firm.
• Operate with autonomy and treat others with respect.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Maine Bar admission and good standing in required jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated mastery of legal skills.

Education
