Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a seasoned Litigation Attorney to handle personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will manage all litigation processes from inception through resolution with minimal supervision. This role demands a high level of negotiation skill, extensive litigation experience, and a passion for advocating on behalf of the underdog.

Job Duties:

• Negotiate personal injury claims on behalf of injured clients.
• Handle all aspects of personal injury litigation from case inception through resolution, including trial.
• Negotiate with insurance companies and defense counsel to reach favorable settlements.
• Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and summary judgment motions.
• Propound and respond to discovery requests.
• Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
• Make regular court appearances and conduct legal research as necessary.
• Maintain ongoing communication and manage relationships with clients.
• Prepare thoroughly for trial, with the potential to serve as 1st or 2nd chair.

Requirements:

• Must have passed the California Bar Exam.
• A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury.
• 1st or 2nd chair trial experience is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to handle complex negotiations.
• A desire to represent and advocate for the interests of the underdog.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective client management.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Skills:

• Proficient in managing multiple aspects of litigation cases independently.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
