Job Overview: A law firm in Pasadena, CA, is seeking a skilled Commercial and Complex Litigation Associate Attorney with a focus on wage and hour litigation. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience handling defense of wage and hour litigation, preferably class actions, and possess a deep understanding of California and federal wage and hour laws.

Duties:

• Defend against wage and hour litigation, with a focus on class actions.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery in wage and hour litigation with limited supervision.
• Handle depositions and motions involving discovery issues.
• Develop and execute discovery plans.
• Draft opposing motions for class certification in wage and hour matters.
• Interface with clients, conveying professionalism and competence in legal and strategic matters.
• Maintain excellent communication and follow-through skills throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in defending wage and hour litigation, preferably class actions.
• Knowledge and experience of California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime and meal and rest periods.
• Experience preparing and responding to written discovery in wage and hour litigation.
• Deposition experience and motion experience involving discovery issues.
• Ability to develop and execute discovery plans.
• Excellent writing skills, particularly in drafting opposing motions for class certification.
• Strong communication skills to interface with clients effectively.
• High level of professionalism and competence in legal and strategic issues.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of California and federal wage and hour laws.
• Strong litigation skills, including deposition and motion practice.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
