A law firm seeks a highly motivated Lead Associate Attorney for its National Litigation Program in Boston, MA. Duties

  • Manage a high-volume caseload of routine litigation matters across multiple states.
  • Draft and review pleadings, discovery responses, and dispositive motions.
  • Supervise and mentor a litigation paralegal(s) supporting the program.
  • Coordinate with local counsel on hearings, filings, and jurisdiction-specific nuances.
  • Review claim files, assess liability and damages exposure, and advise clients accordingly.
  • Monitor and manage deadlines, workflows, and case movement.
  • Communicate professionally and strategically with clients, opposing counsel, and local attorneys.
  • Help develop and refine templates, systems, and workflows for scale.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to measure success, manage costs, and improve processes.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school (multi-state barred preferred).
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience at a law firm or comparable in-house legal department.
  • Experience managing volume caseloads and adhering to procedural timelines.
  • Excellent legal writing and case analysis skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable mentoring or overseeing paralegal-level staff.
  • Willingness to take ownership and drive results within a program-focused structure.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and systems-minded.
  • Enthusiastic about building and iterating a new program from the ground up.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in multiple states preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal writing and case analysis.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with AI-powered legal research and document automation tools is a plus.
