The attorney will manage mortgage-related litigation files as lead counsel in State and Federal courts, drafting pleadings and motions, and representing clients in contested matters. Duties

• Provide legal advice to mortgage servicing clients.
• Communicate with clients via phone, email, and database systems.
• Research and analyze legal sources including statutes and judicial decisions.
• Prepare legal briefs, pleadings, appeals, and contracts.
• Handle civil litigation cases from referral to resolution.
• Participate in mediation and understand complex loan documentation.
• Review staff work for accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of trends and legislation affecting practice area.
• Settle cases and attend hearings.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in State and Federal Courts in Texas.
• 5+ years of courtroom/litigation experience.
• 2+ years' experience preferred in finance or real estate-related matters.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctorate
