Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm with offices across the western United States is seeking a Mid-Level Tax Associate to support its corporate and tax practice. This role focuses on advising clients across various industries on the tax implications of complex transactions and representing them in tax controversies. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in federal tax law and a demonstrated interest in renewable energy finance, M&A, fund formations, and cross-border structuring. Location:
Duties:
Advise on federal tax issues related to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate finance transactions
Structure renewable energy transactions, including tax credit deals and related financing arrangements
Counsel clients on tax controversy and audit matters at both the federal and state levels
Draft tax-related memoranda, contracts, opinions, and advisory documents
Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice areas
Manage multiple client matters concurrently in a fast-paced environment
Stay current on tax law developments and legislative changes impacting clients
Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in federal tax law
Proficiency in both transactional and controversy tax matters
Familiarity with renewable energy finance and tax credit structuring preferred
Experience in corporate finance, M&A, and fund formation desirable
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and handle complex client needs
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
In good standing with a state bar (must align with office location or be eligible for admission)
Skills:
