HR Generalist
The candidate will help organize, coordinate and carry out human resources department projects and processes at all firm locations. Recruitment, applicant tracking, interviews, background/reference checks. Schedule new hire orientations and training, conduct HR overview, complete paperwork. Advise employees on their rights, staff exit interviews. Manage HRIS (UKG) by processing changes, supporting system configurations, and remaining current on trainings for various modules. Support preparation and facilitation of annual performance review process and lead periodic check-ins (quarterly, semi-annually, and 30/60/90 check-ins with new hires). Prepare and analyze reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and firm. Prepare periodic reports for management, including preparing data for various survey requests, as necessary or as requested. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding employment, postings, filings and notices. Facilitate and track Harassment Prevention Training, in accordance with applicable current laws. Handle employee relations counseling including outplacement, staff exit interviews, assist managers in the progressive disciplinary system of the Firm and monitor the implementation of performance improvements plans. Coach managers on effective leadership, communication methods and employee development. Maintain personnel file database (PeopleDoc) and department files. Keep HR related items up to date on the firm's intranet. Maintain and distribute New Hire Packets, including distributing and posting current phone lists and office floor plans as changes occur. Develop a strong understanding of health and welfare benefit plans and leaves of absences to provide back-up support to Manager, Benefits and Wellness. Develop a strong understanding of payroll processing to provide back-up support to Payroll Specialist. Support wellness program and initiatives. Provide internal customer service by assisting and guiding employees and partners in a timely manner. Contribute to the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with strategic goals of the firm. Communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws to firm personnel. Various projects as assigned by direct supervisor. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field with 5+ years of experience is required. Legal industry or other professional services experience is preferred. PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred. Experience with Ultimate Software and PeopleDoc preferred.
