Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The position offers hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception to trial, with direct client contact. Remote or hybrid work options may be available after initial training and integration.

Duties

  • Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
  • Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
  • Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of practice experience, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina or have pending bar exam results.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent.

Certifications

  • Bar license in South Carolina.
