Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Rochelle Park, NJ, is currently seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of landlord-tenant matters, civil litigation, and municipal court cases. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, client-focused attorney with 2-4 years of experience in litigation, particularly in landlord-tenant law. A strong work ethic, passion for legal service, and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently are key to success in this role.

Job Location:

• Rochelle Park, NJ

Duties:

• Landlord-Tenant Matters: Represent landlords in all phases of eviction proceedings, including non-payment and "for cause" holdover evictions.
• Litigation: Handle cases in the Special Civil Part from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients at trial.
• Municipal Court Representation: Represent clients in municipal court proceedings.
• Legal Research: Conduct research to support ongoing cases and provide insights to senior attorneys.
• Document Drafting: Prepare legal documents such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation-related materials.
• Client Interaction: Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and by ensuring client satisfaction.
• Courtroom Representation: Assist in hearings, trials, and depositions, and eventually manage your caseload with increasing responsibility.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on landlord-tenant law.
• Familiarity with court rules, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a high volume of cases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• New Jersey Bar license is required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New Jersey Bar Certification (Required)

Skills:

• Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and civil litigation.
• Legal research and analysis.
• Ability to draft and review legal documents with precision.
• Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortability with courtroom settings and managing litigation processes.
• Familiarity with RE transactions or condominium law (preferred but not required).
