Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an associate (3–5 years of experience) to join its Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Practice Group. This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside a seasoned team handling complex legal and regulatory issues involving data privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, and artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global privacy frameworks, experience with government investigations, and a passion for helping cutting-edge companies navigate regulatory landscapes.
Location:

Duties:
Advise clients on compliance with U.S. and global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
Represent clients in regulatory investigations by the FTC and state Attorneys General
Counsel on incident response and legal strategy following cybersecurity breaches
Draft and implement privacy and cybersecurity policies and programs
Assist with designing and auditing global compliance programs
Support clients across various industries, especially technology and innovation sectors
Stay current on evolving legal standards related to data use, AI, and consumer rights
Requirements:
3–5 years of experience practicing data privacy, cybersecurity, or related regulatory law
Experience with FTC policy and enforcement or similar government regulatory matters is preferred
Proven ability to provide practical advice on data handling and compliance
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working in a client-facing environment
Demonstrated success in managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Strong academic credentials required
Certifications:
Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) preferred
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations
Familiarity with AI regulation, cybersecurity frameworks, and compliance strategy
Technical understanding of computer systems, network infrastructure, or web technologies is a plus
Strong research, writing, and verbal communication abilities
Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments
