A law firm in Kansas City, MO, is seeking an experienced Asbestos Litigation Attorney/Senior Counsel with a minimum of 5 years of expertise in all stages of asbestos-specific litigation. The candidate is required to hold an active Louisiana bar license, currently reside and practice in Louisiana, and possess an excellent academic record. Duties:

• Oversee and manage all stages of asbestos-specific litigation cases, including case assessment, investigation, discovery, trial, and settlement.
• Apply in-depth legal knowledge to handle general product liability cases and provide legal counsel and representation to clients.
• Conduct extensive legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and respond to discovery requests.
• Collaborate with clients to collect crucial case-related information and documentation.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Represent clients in court, including attending hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
• Offer legal advice and guidance to clients on asbestos and product liability matters.
• Stay current with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with all stages of asbestos-specific litigation.
• Active Louisiana bar license.
• Current residence and practice in Louisiana.
• Excellent academic record.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Education:

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Louisiana bar license.
