Job Overview
A respected law firm based in Chester County, Pennsylvania is seeking an Associate Attorney to support its statewide municipal defense practice. The firm represents public entities in matters involving civil litigation, labor and employment law, civil rights, business law, and real estate. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of civil litigation experience and be prepared to contribute to a fast-paced, client-focused practice.

Location

• Chester County, PA

Duties

• Represent municipal and public entity clients in a range of civil litigation matters

• Support partners with legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and memoranda

• Participate in all stages of litigation, including pretrial discovery and trial preparation

• Attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings

• Collaborate with attorneys in other practice areas, including labor, employment, and municipal law

• Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients and external stakeholders

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in civil litigation

• Strong organizational, writing, and analytical abilities

• Effective communication skills for interaction with clients and court personnel

• Ability to manage deadlines and case responsibilities independently

• Commitment to professionalism and high-quality legal work

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Pennsylvania

Skills

• Proficient legal writing and research capabilities

• Knowledge of Pennsylvania court procedures and civil practice rules

• Ability to work collaboratively and independently

• Strong attention to detail and time management

• Experience or interest in municipal or public sector legal work is a plus
