Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney specializing in General Liability for their Fairfax, VA office. The ideal candidate will have over three years of litigation experience and be barred in MD, VA, and/or DC.

Duties

• Manage cases from inception to post-trial.
• Communicate with clients to keep them updated on case status.
• Make court appearances and participate in mediation.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare, review, and respond to discovery.
• Conduct research as required by each case.
• Conduct direct and cross-examination of expert witnesses at trial and in depositions.
• Meet billing requirements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of General Liability litigation experience.
• Barred in MD, VA, and/or DC.
• Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience with depositions, mediation, and courtroom proceedings preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Strong positive attitude and teamwork skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in MD, VA, and/or DC.

• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
