Global Head Of Diversity Recruiting
The candidate will develop, lead, and execute a world-class recruiting strategy to attract and retain diverse attorney talent. Build a global network of diverse talent to convert to hires, especially into senior and leadership roles. Serve as a brand ambassador and thought leader to promote recognition of the firm as a desired employer-of-choice that values diversity and provides an equitable and inclusive environment to grow professionally. Advise executive leadership on talent acquisition related aspects of DEI strategy, innovating upon existing recruiting orthodoxies and collaborating with clients to affect positive change. Additionally, access to the U.S. offices will be limited to personnel who are fully vaccinated from COVID-19. Work in conjunction with others, including the Senior Management Team (SMT), Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Diversity Officer, Director of Alumni Relations, Business Inclusion Group leaders and priority clients. Evaluate and revise the strategy to the diverse attorney talent at all levels. Review year-over-year recruitment and retention of lateral and entry-level attorneys and staff to measure effectiveness. Act as a strategic advisor to the SMT in relation to the firm’s diversity hiring and retention efforts providing data analysis of the entry-level market, the lateral market trends, and retention risks. Additional retention recommendations will be provided from exit survey data and one-on-one meetings with departing attorneys. Engage and create buy-in/support from key stakeholders, including the Global Leadership Team, Talent Committee, partnership and local recruiting managers. Assist in communicating the purpose of the strategy both internally and externally to key stakeholders. Review and monitor the firm’s approach to hiring to ensure it includes and attracts diverse candidates. Partner with the DEI team as well as outside resources to collaborate on education and training initiatives that ensure recruitment processes are inclusive and free of unfair bias. Build relationships and partnerships with external organizations and recruiting firms to the diverse talent. Build relationships with elite and local law schools including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), diverse law student associations (e.g. local BALSA, NAPALA, HLSA, OutLaw), and diversity bar associations (e.g. NBA, NAPABA, HNBA, Lavendar Law) to attract diverse entry-level and/or lateral candidates. Leverage the firm personnel who are alumni of target law schools and diverse bar associations to help build relationships and pipelines at the respective schools and organizations. Survey diverse attorney population and alumni to evaluate the recruiting processes and procedures and liaise with appropriate leadership to implement change. Encourage participation in the employee referral program. Bachelor's degree is required; Master’s or J.D. is preferred. Board level experience within a professional services environment or at a corresponding level within a recruitment or in-house setting is required. Should have recent and relevant understanding of current law firm or professional service context, market trends and philosophies.
