A law firm seeks an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney in Katy, TX. The role involves representing clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience or a history of handling over 300 bankruptcy cases. Applications are also accepted from the DFW, Austin, and San Antonio areas.

Duties

• Review bankruptcy files with the paralegal and the client.
• Prepare clients for their 341 meetings.
• Review bankruptcy notices, motions, objections, and pleadings.
• Collaborate effectively with the case attorney and trustees.
• Analyze each case for issues and explore resolution strategies.
• Handle reaffirmations, modifications, dismissals, and legal research.
• Conduct client interviews to gather information about legal issues.

Requirements

• Passion for helping people.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Member of the Texas State Bar and in good standing.
• Member of at least one of the four Texas Federal Courts, with willingness to apply to others.
• Ability to provide legal instruction independently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
