A law firm in Dallas is seeking a Junior- to Mid-Level Intellectual Property Litigation (Patent) Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience litigating before U.S. district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), or the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). The position requires a strong background in intellectual property law, particularly in patent litigation, and preferred educational qualifications include an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field. An advanced degree or industry experience is advantageous, and membership in the Patent Bar is preferred.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in patent litigation matters before U.S. district courts, the ITC, and the PTAB.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies, including case preparation, legal research, and motion practice.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct and manage discovery processes, including document review and deposition preparation.
  • Participate in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and senior attorneys to build and support patent litigation cases.
  • Analyze and interpret technical information related to patent disputes, leveraging technical expertise.
  • Stay updated on developments in patent law, litigation trends, and relevant technological advancements.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience litigating patent cases before U.S. district courts, the ITC, or the PTAB.
  • Preferred educational background includes an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or industry experience in relevant technical fields is a plus.
  • Membership in the Patent Bar is preferred.

Education:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the Patent Bar is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong experience in patent litigation and intellectual property law.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to patent disputes.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex technical information.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present cases effectively.
