Duties:
- Manage patent prosecution matters in the biotechnology and life sciences space
- Collaborate with clients to develop and protect intellectual property portfolios
- Prepare and file patent applications
- Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
- Engage in patent office proceedings and respond to office actions
- Provide strategic advice to clients regarding intellectual property matters
- Assist with IP litigation and other intellectual property-related services as needed
Requirements:
- 1-5 years of experience in patent prosecution, with a focus on life sciences or biotechnology
- Experience handling intellectual property matters in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related fields
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Education:
- Advanced degree in life sciences, ideally a Ph.D., required
- JD from an accredited law school
Certifications:
- Patent Bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) is required
- Must be willing to take and pass the patent Bar exam within 12 months of employment, if not already registered
