Job Overview:
An esteemed law firm is seeking a highly qualified Resource Attorney to support its Debt Finance practice group. This non-client-facing role is essential to enhancing the productivity, knowledge, and efficiency of practicing attorneys. The position focuses on managing internal legal resources, staying abreast of industry trends, supporting legal education initiatives, and fostering practice group innovation. Ideal for experienced attorneys looking to pivot toward a high-impact, strategic, and knowledge-driven role.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Manage and maintain a transaction database by inputting terms from signed deals

  • Coordinate with the knowledge management team for database audits and upkeep

  • Track credit facility terms for recurring clients

  • Draft and revise form and precedent documents

  • Curate and organize forms, precedents, and internal know-how resources

  • Monitor legal and market developments in Debt Finance

  • Summarize updates and ensure practice resources reflect current market standards

  • Collaborate on legal education programming and associate training content

  • Support marketing efforts with pitch content, presentations, and thought leadership

  • Respond to individual attorney requests for templates, precedents, and resources

  • Participate in knowledge management and innovation initiatives

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a U.S. Debt Finance practice

  • Solid understanding of credit and security documentation and leveraged buyouts

  • Exceptional drafting and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to multitask and manage complex projects

  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving team needs

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Entrepreneurial mindset; ability to build foundational resources for a practice group

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the United States

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting and writing abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Project management proficiency

  • Familiarity with legal research tools (e.g., EDGAR, Intelligize, Practical Law)

  • Experience with both public and private finance transactions
