Professional Liability Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated litigation associate to join its Wilmington, Delaware office. The ideal candidate will have a background in professional liability litigation and be eager to manage complex cases involving healthcare, insurance, and various other professional sectors. Duties:

• Represent clients in professional liability cases, including healthcare providers, nursing homes, treatment centers, and specialty care facilities.
• Handle general commercial and professional liability litigation, particularly in the areas of healthcare, ENO/DNO, and senior living litigation.
• Defend various licensed professionals, including doctors, lawyers, insurance agents, architects, and engineers, as well as institutions such as hotels and other businesses in the hospitality industry.
• Engage in mass torts and class action litigation, with specific experience in cases involving human trafficking, sexual abuse, and other complex legal issues.
• Actively participate in case strategy development, including managing discovery, drafting motions, and preparing for hearings or trials.
• Provide direct client service and ensure they are consistently updated on case developments.
• Contribute to the firm’s reputation by providing thoughtful legal analysis and contributing to collaborative team efforts.
• Mentor junior associates and participate in internal training and development initiatives.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in professional liability or commercial litigation, including a focus on healthcare, insurance, or mass torts.
• Experience defending healthcare institutions, licensed professionals, or clients in industries such as hospitality is a plus.
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills with a keen ability to draft legal documents and communicate complex ideas.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent client management and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Delaware and in good standing.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Delaware State Bar.
