Job Title: Insurance + Reinsurance Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A Wilmington, DE-based law firm is currently seeking a litigation attorney with mid-level experience to join its Insurance & Reinsurance practice. This position is ideal for a legal professional with a deep understanding of commercial and professional insurance coverage and a strong background in complex civil litigation. The role will focus on high-stakes disputes, often involving layered policies and intricate coverage matters across diverse sectors.

Duties:

• Handle coverage analysis for general liability, directors & officers, and professional liability policies

• Draft motions, pleadings, and memoranda for complex commercial litigation

• Conduct all phases of discovery, including e-discovery, interrogatories, and motion practice

• Prepare for and take depositions; attend court hearings as appropriate

• Manage and develop client relationships with a focus on strategic advisory and responsiveness

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-profile insurance litigation and arbitration cases

• Support internal initiatives related to practice growth and innovation

Requirements:

• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation

• Prior exposure to high-value or multi-party litigation in federal and/or state courts

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage litigation tasks and deadlines

• Solid understanding of insurance policy language and risk transfer principles

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Delaware State Bar, or eligibility to waive in

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research and persuasive writing capabilities

• Strong verbal communication and courtroom presence

• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously

• Proficient in litigation management tools and case tracking systems

• Business-savvy mindset and interest in supporting client development efforts
