Job Overview:
A well-established law firm specializing in criminal defense, debt relief, business litigation, and other civil matters is seeking an experienced Lead Civil Litigation Attorney for a full-time, remote position based in Florida. This role requires a strong leader with comprehensive civil litigation experience, including overseeing a team of attorneys and paralegals, while actively handling select high-impact cases. The Lead Attorney will be responsible for strategic leadership, case oversight, and enhancing litigation processes. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience and be well-versed in Florida civil litigation practices.

Location:

• Palm Harbor, FL

Duties:

• Division Lead: Manage and oversee the civil litigation team, including attorneys and paralegals. Track team billable hours and ensure client accounts have sufficient funds for billing.
• Case Oversight & Team Development: Ensure all cases are progressing efficiently, meeting deadlines, and adhering to firm strategy. Hold regular roundtable discussions, progress meetings, and monitor case outcomes.
• Selective Legal Representation: Handle select high-impact cases, offering direct representation in complex matters requiring strategic input.
• Strategic Leadership & Process Improvement: Continuously refine case management processes to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction. Work with leadership to mentor attorneys and implement best practices.
• Court Oversight & Advocacy: Ensure preparation for critical legal proceedings such as depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Provide guidance on motions, legal arguments, and settlement negotiations.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of general civil litigation experience, including handling real estate matters.
• At least 3 civil trials as first-chair counsel.
• Strong leadership or management experience in mentoring attorneys and paralegals.
• Expertise in the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation strategies.
• Proven experience in dispute resolution, including negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Ability to develop and implement case-specific strategies for both plaintiff and defendant cases.
• Active membership in the Florida Bar and ability to practice law in Florida.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Florida Bar membership and license to practice law in Florida.
