Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join their team in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil litigation and a strong ability to provide legal counsel on municipal law matters.

Duties

• Represent clients and manage all aspects of civil litigation.
• Conduct research, interviews, investigations, motions, and trials.
• Evaluate files to determine potential liability and damages.
• Handle pleadings, pre-trial discovery, trial, settlement, and appeal.
• Prepare and review agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients at arbitration, mediation, and other legal proceedings.
• Track work and prepare reports for management.

Requirements

• Six years of civil litigation experience, including trial experience.
• Current licensure in Missouri; Kansas licensure is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Current license in MO required; Kansas licensure is a plus.

Skills

• Knowledge of civil and administrative law principles.
• Ability to prepare and present complex cases in court.
• Strong research and legal opinion preparation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
