Duties: Regularly collaborates with corporate and divisional leadership as a strategic influencer, valued counselor, and practical decision-maker, with particular emphasis in developing the legal framework necessary for the successful execution of operational strategy.. Consistently provides creative, business-minded strategies and solutions that enhance commercial initiatives, avoid commercial and compliance risks, and promotes EVA approach to decision-making. Exercises excellent interpersonal skills as a key influencer of senior management to accomplish mission critical commercial, regulatory, and policy goals to ensure the Corporation grows EVA dollars while remaining contractually, ethically, and legally compliant. Alerts organizational leadership to changes in legislative, governmental, and regulatory requirements that give rise to new opportunities for operational growth and opportunities or that require corporate risk mitigation.. Leads strategic development and execution for all legal activities within the employee’s regional responsibility or functional areas, as well as provides strategic direction and/or input for other critical operational projects (e.g., M&A, operational growth). Develops legal documents (e.g., contracts, correspondence) and operational processes (e.g., policies, negotiation playbooks, work instructions) to help identify and mitigate legal risks to ensure the successful execution of operational strategy.. Proactively maintains the highest level of expertise and skill while providing quality, timely, and accurate counsel to the organization by continuously improving services and relationships. Proactively manages legal risk for the Corporation by hiring, supervising, and assisting outside counsel in successfully defending the organization in litigation and other legal matters while reducing the impact on financial resources. Develops the individual and organizational capability and professional standards of the Legal function by maintaining the highest standards of integrity and developing future leaders through an environment of feedback, collaboration, and team achievement. While the regular working cycle of this position is usually five days on (Monday-Friday), this job may include working weekends (Saturday and Sunday); working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
