A law firm seeks a Senior Business Litigation Associate for its Los Angeles, CA office. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of recent business litigation experience and be licensed to practice in California. Strong writing skills and excellent academic credentials are essential.
Duties

• Review fact patterns and provide analysis and recommendations.
• Analyze legal issues effectively and accurately.
• Second chair complex cases or first chair simpler cases.
• Assist lead trial attorneys in pre-trial issues and proceedings.
• Prepare complex pre-trial motions.
• Evaluate and implement pre-trial and witness preparation.
• Manage small cases independently with minimal supervision.
• Handle modestly complex commercial cases independently.
• Prepare motions for summary judgment.
• Prepare deponents effectively.
• Take complex deposition testimony.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in California.
• Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules.
• Ability to prepare basic litigation documents.
• Case management experience.
• Clear and effective drafting skills.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• Ability to learn new legal topics as needed.
• Provide effective legal services to clients and attorneys.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong organization and matter management skills.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
