Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its St. Louis office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 0 to 5 years of experience who is eager to develop their litigation and administrative skills in the workers' compensation field. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys, gain hands-on legal experience, and work on a variety of workers' compensation cases. This role offers exposure to state and federal courts, as well as the opportunity for mentorship in a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment.

Location:

• St. Louis, MO

Duties:

• Collaborate with experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants on workers' compensation cases.

• Conduct legal research and stay current with new developments in workers' compensation law.

• Directly interact with clients on a daily basis and build strong client relationships.

• Handle depositions, mediations, conferences, and court appearances as part of case management.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, findings of fact, opinions, and other legal documents.

• Manage and prioritize a large caseload with multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

Requirements:

• 0 to 5 years of experience in the legal field.

• Working knowledge of administrative laws and procedures related to workers' compensation.

• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to work effectively with clients and corporate professionals.

• Ability to handle large caseloads and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in Missouri.

Certifications:

• Ability to become licensed in Illinois is preferred, but not required.

Skills:

• Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
