A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Employment Litigation Associate to join its dynamic and growing team in San Francisco. This position offers the opportunity to work with an impressive range of clients, from fast-growing startups to established Fortune 500 companies in diverse industries such as technology, life sciences, green energy, and cleantech. The ideal candidate will be involved in complex litigation, providing legal counsel on various employment-related issues, and working with a collaborative team on high-profile matters that shape the employment landscape.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment law litigation, handling cases such as trade secret misappropriation, non-compete agreements, and sexual harassment or discrimination claims.
  • Provide legal advice to technology companies on employment matters, including terminations, employee leaves, and policy reviews.
  • Counsel clients on employment mobility issues, such as trade secrets, non-competes, and employee non-solicitation agreements.
  • Advise clients on employment-related matters during mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Conduct internal investigations and prepare legal briefs, motions, and other necessary documents.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop effective strategies and provide day-to-day legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to client needs.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in employment law litigation and counseling, particularly in management-side matters.
  • Experience handling employment law cases, including trade secret misappropriation, discrimination, and contractual issues.
  • Ability to provide day-to-day legal advice to clients in fast-paced industries, particularly technology companies.
  • Expertise in advising clients on employment-related matters in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Must be a member of the California Bar (or eligible for admission).
  • Strong academic credentials, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California Bar, in good standing.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, including litigation and counseling.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with an ability to handle complex legal documents.
  • Expertise in advising clients on employment mobility and corporate transactions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams and manage client relationships.
