Job Overview

A law firm seeks a 4th-5th year Finance Associate Attorney to join their Leveraged Finance and Private Equity Finance team in Chicago, Illinois. The firm represents private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, and debt providers in various financing transactions, offering practical, business-oriented counsel.

Duties

• Represent private equity sponsors and portfolio companies in borrower-side debt financing transactions.
• Draft, negotiate, and structure definitive loan documents, including credit agreements and intercreditor agreements.
• Manage transaction workstreams and coordinate closings.
• Collaborate with Corporate/M&A and other practice groups on acquisition financing transactions.

Requirements

• 4-5 years of relevant leveraged finance or acquisition finance experience.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Admitted to and a member in good standing of the bar in the jurisdiction of the office.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

• Excellent written communication skills.
• Experience with acquisition financing across market segments.
• Ability to independently manage transactions and serve as a client contact.
