Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a highly motivated Family Wealth Planning Associate to join its expanding Trusts & Estates team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a group of experienced attorneys while managing complex estate planning and administration matters. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven professional with a deep understanding of estate and gift tax law, strong communication skills, and a desire to grow within the firm, with a clear path toward partnership.

Duties:
Manage and independently handle estate planning matters including:
A/B trust plans
Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs)
Gift Trusts and Irrevocable Grantor Trusts
Private Settlement Agreements
All stages of estate administration
Guardianships (person and estate)
Gift tax return preparation
Federal estate tax return preparation (including portability elections)
Cultivate and maintain client relationships through excellent service and consistent communication
Network and engage in business development to attract new clients and referral sources
Participate in public speaking events and contribute to educational content such as newsletters and seminars
Collaborate with the firm's Family Wealth Planning team to ensure quality and consistency across matters
Engage actively with the local probate bar and support the practice’s community involvement efforts
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in trusts and estates law
Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters independently
Client-service orientation with a proactive approach to relationship development
Active participation in relevant professional or community organizations
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally accredited law school
Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio (required)
Skills:
Proficiency in estate and gift tax return preparation
Strong research, writing, and legal analysis capabilities
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
Experience or familiarity with fiduciary income tax and/or probate litigation (preferred)
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for business development
Effective communicator and team collaborator
