Duties

• Manage a caseload of deportation-removal defense cases.
• Prepare bond applications and conduct bond hearings.
• Prepare applications for relief, including cancellation of removal, waiver applications, and asylum claims.
• Conduct individual hearings and legal research.
• Prepare motions, memos of law, and BIA appeals.
• Track and meet deadlines for submissions.
• Supervise paralegals to ensure thorough case preparation.
• Conduct client intakes and maintain client communication.
• Appear before USCIS in the New York Metropolitan area.

Requirements

• JD from a U.S. law school.
• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• At least three years of experience in deportation-removal defense.
• Commitment to high-quality legal work.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a U.S. law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
