Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney with defense-side litigation experience to join its growing healthcare defense practice in Delaware. The role involves representing a diverse range of healthcare providers in litigation matters. Candidates with existing client relationships or a portable book of business are also welcome to apply and will be considered for a more senior-level opportunity.
Location:
Wilmington, Delaware
Duties:
Represent healthcare providers in medical malpractice and other healthcare-related litigation
Support senior attorneys in case preparation, motion practice, discovery, and trial work
Manage assigned case files and maintain direct communication with clients
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
Participate in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings as needed
Ensure compliance with all procedural requirements and deadlines
Requirements:
Experience in civil litigation, preferably on the defense side
Familiarity with healthcare-related legal issues is preferred but not required
Willingness to work collaboratively with legal teams and clients
For lateral candidates: portable book of business is welcome and negotiable
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the State of Delaware (required)
Skills:
Strong legal research and writing skills
Effective verbal communication and courtroom presence
Ability to manage multiple cases with varying deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational capabilities
Client-service oriented with a professional demeanor
