Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm is seeking a highly qualified Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience to join their dynamic team in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex commercial litigation, including business disputes, real estate matters, fiduciary litigation, and class actions. The role requires excellent academic credentials, exceptional research and writing skills, and the ability to manage a demanding workload.

Duties:

• Handle complex commercial litigation cases, including business disputes, real estate lending, financing and leasing disputes, fiduciary litigation, contract disputes, business tort disputes, noncompete and trade secret disputes, shareholder derivative disputes, and class actions.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motion papers, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other standard documents in compliance with New York state and federal court practices.
• Represent clients in the Commercial Division of New York Supreme Court, New York County, and the United States District Court for the Southern and/or Eastern Districts of New York.
• Utilize effective project management skills to manage a fast-paced and complex workload, while anticipating and addressing potential issues.
• Collaborate with a team of legal professionals and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
• Am Law 100 experience is preferred.
• Trial experience is a plus.
• Law Review or Journal experience is a plus.
• Prior federal law clerk experience is a plus.

Education:

• J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills:

• Strong research, writing, oral advocacy, and discovery skills.
• Knowledge of the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules (CPLR), the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and the Rules of the Commercial Division of the New York Supreme Court.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills.
• Superior attention to detail.
• Analytical skills.
