Duties

• Appear in court for the firm at least three days per week.
• Review new claims to ensure compliance.
• Sign off on pleadings for court filings, such as complaints and motions.
• Draft various motions and responses to contested matters as needed.
• Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations.
• Manage telephonic and written communication with opposing counsel.
• Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims involving the firm or clients.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and admittance to the Indiana Bar.
• Additional licenses in other states are valuable.

• Admittance to the Indiana Bar

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with Collection Master or equivalent case file management systems preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with diverse groups, including staff, judges, and opposing counsel.
• Ability to use tact, discretion, and courtesy in professional interactions.
• Independent decision-making and accountability.
• Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping skills.
