Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in West Palm Beach, FL. The ideal candidate will assist in all phases of the litigation process, including interviews, legal research, and document filing. This role is perfect for recent law graduates or new attorneys interested in personal injury law.

Duties

• Conduct pre-claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments.
• Draft and file pleadings and motions with the court.
• Perform administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and organizing case files.
• Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
• Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
• Gather relevant information from various sources.
• Draft and file complaints.
• Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and related litigation matters.
• Assist with jury instructions and witness preparation.
• Provide assistance with case settlements.
• Enroll clients and prepare demand letters.
• Prepare reports for weekly staff meetings.

Requirements

• Bi-lingual speaking preferred (Haitian Creole and English).
• Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Must possess a Florida Bar License.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree.
