A law firm is currently seeking a Litigation Attorney with a focus on civil rights to join their team in Rockford, IL. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling legal matters related to civil rights cases. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active State of Illinois Law license in good standing. The candidate should have 3-7 years of experience in civil rights litigation.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil rights cases, including discrimination, harassment, and constitutional violations.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy.
• Draft and file legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and briefs.
• Attend court hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on civil rights issues.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and other legal professionals.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active State of Illinois Law license in good standing.
• 3-7 years of experience in civil rights litigation.
• In-depth knowledge of civil rights laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
