Job Title: Bankruptcy Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Chandler, AZ, seeks a knowledgeable and experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bankruptcy law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle a diverse caseload of consumer debtor cases.

Duties:

• Consult with clients to assess their financial situations and determine the appropriate bankruptcy strategy
• Educate and inform clients about the bankruptcy process, their rights, and obligations
• Mentor and guide to support staff to ensure proper fulfillment of legal services
• Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests/responses
• Stay abreast of changes in bankruptcy laws and statutes at the local, state, and federal levels
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including arguing motions on their behalf
• Maintain membership with the State Bar of Arizona in good standing

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar of Arizona
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience representing consumer debtors in bankruptcy proceedings
• Experience with Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and adversary proceedings
• Working knowledge of related legal areas such as family law, personal injury, tax, and contract law is preferred
• Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple files

Certifications:

• Member of the State Bar of Arizona in good standing
