A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Fintech & Financial Services practice in Redwood City, CA. This role involves advising on regulatory matters, complex transactions, and digital finance innovations, serving clients from traditional financial institutions to fintech and crypto companies.

Duties

• Advise clients on federal and state regulatory requirements, including licensing and compliance frameworks.
• Counsel on payments regulation, money transmission laws, and digital asset regulations.
• Lead and support M&A transactions and capital markets activities.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including bank partnership and technology contracts.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide actionable guidance.
• Collaborate on cross-border transactions and regulatory matters.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• 3-5 years of experience at a top-tier law firm or relevant regulatory agency.
• Experience in fintech regulatory matters or financial services transactions.
• Knowledge of payments, digital assets, or emerging fintech business models preferred.
• Admitted to practice in New York and/or California, or eligible for admission.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York and/or California.
