Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is actively seeking a mid-level Associate to join its Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on high-stakes, complex IP litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions. Ideal candidates will bring a strong academic background, significant hands-on litigation experience, and a collaborative mindset suited for a national practice environment.

Location:

• Kansas City, MO

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of intellectual property litigation

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal briefs

• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda

• Manage discovery and participate in deposition and trial preparation

• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on litigation strategies

• Engage in client communications and support business development initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in intellectual property litigation

• Experience before the Federal Circuit is considered a plus

• Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal and technical subject matter

• Strong team orientation and professional maturity

• Commitment to excellence and high-quality legal work

• Must be admitted to the bar in the jurisdiction of intended practice

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Undergraduate degree required

• Graduate degree (if applicable) encouraged to submit with application materials

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in the relevant practicing jurisdiction

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research and writing ability

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Excellent judgment and analytical thinking

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing deadlines

• Adept at working independently and collaboratively
