Atlanta office of our client seeks an attorney with 2+ years of experience appearing, preparing, and submitting evidence/motions before EOIR and criminal courts in Georgia. The candidate will represent clients in immigration and criminal proceedings and prepare memorandums, briefs, motions, and other legal documents. Will represent clients in court or before government agencies. Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients. Advise clients about immigration proceedings and criminal cases. Communicate with prosecutors from the Office of Chief Counsel and various prosecutors' offices in both Federal, Superior, and State courts. Comply with all legal standards and regulations. Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law. Courtroom experience preferred. Should have knowledge and understanding of various immigration reliefs available including the family petition process, consular processing, U-Visas, quasi cases (immigration court/administrative cases), cancellation of removal for legal permanent residents and non-legal permanent residents, and I-601 waivers. Experience writing briefs based on extreme hardship for I-601A, Provisional Waivers, and other waiver applications strongly encouraged. Experience in researching various legal issues based on each case type, familiar with Westlaw, Kurzban, and GA statutes and Immigration Nationality Act needed. Must be a bilingual attorney (Spanish). Must be licensed in Georgia. Should have the ability to build rapport with clients. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed. Should have excellent written and verbal communication.
