Duties

• Manage a criminal law caseload.
• Supervise a paralegal.
• Monitor open cases for activity.
• Review cases for recordkeeping and file maintenance.
• Conduct pre-trial discovery, hearings, and trials.
• Provide co-counseling assistance to colleagues.
• Participate in departmental meetings.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and court personnel.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• 1-2 years of relevant legal experience preferred; newly licensed candidates with strong interest in criminal law considered.
• Experience with felony offenses.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
• Flexible work schedule.
• Ability to manage a diverse docket independently.
• Strong work ethic and accountability.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Excellent attendance record.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications
