Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Business Litigation Associate in Buffalo, NY. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in business litigation law, demonstrating the ability to manage complex disputes independently while maintaining high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Handle all phases of business and commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and motion arguments.
• Assist with trial preparation, arbitration proceedings, and settlement negotiations.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on client matters.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and business support professionals.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other practice areas.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of New York.

Skills

• Experience in litigating complex business disputes.
• Ability to manage matters with increasing independence.
• Experience leading court conferences in state and/or federal court.
• Experience conducting depositions and managing discovery.
