Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated and experienced Estate Planning Associate to join its Tax & Estates practice in New York City, NY. This role is ideal for an attorney comfortable managing matters with appropriate supervision, communicating directly with clients, and producing high-quality work in a collaborative, in-person environment.

Duties

• Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents, including wills and trusts.
• Advise on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer planning strategies.
• Assist with estate and trust administration, including probate filings and asset distribution.
• Coordinate with clients' professional advisors to implement planning recommendations.
• Support matters involving closely held business interests and real estate.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on trusts and estates issues.
• Participate in client meetings and manage matters efficiently.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in New York and in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in estate planning.
• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in New York.
