Export Control Compliance Officer
The candidate reports to University's (Tulane or the University) Research Compliance Officer within the Office of the Vice President for Research. Will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and updating an export controls compliance program for Tulane that ensures the University's compliance with export controls laws, regulations, policies, guidance, and best practices, and mitigating risk to the institution. Develops, amends, and implements the export controls compliance program and associated policies, procedures, guidance, and training materials in response to changes in regulation, other governing standards, and/or best practices. Will be the primary contact for all internal and external inquiries and is expected to advise the University on regulatory requirements, operating as a "one-stop-shop" for all export controls needs for researchers and the University community thereby ensuring compliance as well as serving as a resource for the University's researchers. Serves as a liaison with the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to communicate legal issues and changes in law or regulation concerning, and appropriate resulting action from such legal issues or changes. Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and updating a compliance program for undue foreign governmental influence in research at Tulane that ensures the University's compliance with laws, regulations, policies, guidance, and best practices, and mitigating risk to the institution. Develops, amends, and implements the compliance program for undue foreign influence in research and associated policies, procedures, guidance, and training materials in response to changes in regulation, other governing standards, and/or best practices.
