VP - Assistant GC, Corporate Operations
The candidate will lead the Commercial Legal Team ~ you are passionate about building relationships, supervising a trusted and talented team of professionals, and proactively partnering with various business leaders across our Supply Chain, Production and Sourcing, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Merchandise, Digital and Marketing teams to achieve their strategies and financial goals. Manage the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide variety of contractual agreements and documents, including non-disclosure agreements, master service agreements, lease agreements, license agreements, consulting agreements, marketing and agency agreements, subscriptions agreements, software-as-a-service (SAAS) agreements, and carrier agreements. Protect company brands and trademarks, and coordinate with internal resources and outside counsel to manage our global Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio. Provide legal review for marketing copy and collateral and other customer-facing assets, as necessary. Provide thought leadership and strategic direction on legal and regulatory issues in emerging areas in the retail sector, such as NFTs, virtual goods, digital currency, and blockchain technology. Collaborate with business stakeholders to build policies and practices to ensure we are satisfying contractual obligations and operating with integrity. Help manage disputes that may arise in commercial relationships. Drive best practices in multiple legal projects, ranging from drafting contract templates, contract management policies and legal support processes, to playbooks for spotting and handling legal issues, to training on relevant topics, with the goal of pro-actively providing efficient and timely legal support to clients.
