Associate Attorney Insurance Defense Litigation

Profile

A law firm seeks a litigation attorney to join its insurance defense practice in Buffalo, NY. This role offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to gain hands-on experience across all stages of litigation while working in a collaborative team environment.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law to support case strategies.
• Participate in the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Attend and assist with depositions, court appearances, and hearings.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and provide clients with updates.
• Assist in trial preparation and, as needed, participate in courtroom proceedings.

Requirements

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 0–3 years of experience in litigation, preferably in insurance defense.
• Strong legal writing and research skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and oral advocacy abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in New York State.
