Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a motivated and passionate Family Law Associate Attorney for their Greenville, South Carolina office. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in family law matters such as child custody, child support, divorce, and domestic violence cases. This role is open to candidates with up to 3 years of experience or those planning to sit for the February 2025 Bar Exam. Location:
Greenville, South Carolina
Duties:
Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, domestic violence, and other family-related cases.
Prepare legal documents, including petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
Advise clients on legal options, strategies, and next steps throughout their cases.
Attend court hearings, mediations, and other proceedings as necessary.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure effective case management.
Maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with sensitive and emotional client situations.
Participate in firm initiatives and contribute to a positive team culture.
Requirements:
Licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina State Bar.
0-3 years of experience working in a law firm, with a preference for family law experience.
A demonstrated passion for practicing family law and helping clients navigate difficult situations.
Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress and emotionally charged situations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Creative, organized, and self-motivated problem solver.
Active community involvement (Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson County involvement is a plus).
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the South Carolina State Bar or plans to sit for the February 2025 Bar Exam.
