Duties

  • Conduct thorough analysis of inventions in the medical devices and mechanical engineering fields.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal counsel on patent-related matters to clients within the firm.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and clients to gather necessary information for patent applications.
  • Conduct patent searches and analyze prior art to assess patentability.
  • Assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent appeals, if required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is mandatory.
  • Solid academic achievement and a proven track record in a law firm or relevant industry.
  • Experience with patent prosecution related to medical devices and/or mechanical products.
  • JD and admission to the USPTO required

Education

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills
