A law firm seeks a Tax Associate to join its Business Transactions practice group in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will possess an LL.M. in Taxation and demonstrate strong analytical and writing skills, along with excellent client service and interpersonal abilities. Experience in federal income taxation, entity selection, corporate governance, and business reorganizations is preferred.

Duties

• Advise clients on federal income tax matters and related business considerations.
• Assist with entity selection, formation, and organizational structuring.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, business agreements, and transactional documents.
• Support corporate reorganizations, restructurings, and other business transactions.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda regarding tax laws, regulations, and developments.
• Analyze tax implications of transactions and provide practical recommendations to clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
• Participate in client meetings, due diligence efforts, and ongoing client counseling.

Requirements

• LL.M. in Taxation required.
• Missouri or Minnesota bar license, or commitment to obtain one promptly.
• Strong academic credentials and analytical skills.
• Exceptional writing and client service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

• LL.M. in Taxation.
