Senior Legal Counsel, Healthcare
Duties: Developing factual and legal analyses in defense of nationwide administrative complaints and investigations against pharmacies and pharmacists. Work with field leadership and internal corporate partners to establish appropriate legal defenses through witness interviews, review of internal data, policies and procedures, preparation of witnesses for informal and formal administrative proceedings, and evaluation and negotiation of proposed settlement offers. Draft responses on behalf of the company and review responses of outside counsel to allegations of non-compliance. Work with field leadership and internal corporate partners to identify changes in procedure necessary to ensure on-going compliance. Develop and foster internal client relationships in retail pharmacy, review and analyze pharmacy regulatory research and provide guidance to internal clients on complaint practices and programs. Collaborate with other team members on communications with Boards of Pharmacy and identification of administrative enforcement trends that may impact business goals and operations. Partnering with the corporate compliance office to ensure completion of changes to retail pharmacy policies and procedures in order for the business to remain complaint. Identifying business and legal risks in retail pharmacy operations to ensure complaint pharmacy practices. Developing a deep understanding of the business and operational goals of retail pharmacy while maintaining positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.. Partnering with other internal attorneys on legal and regulatory compliance and general corporate legal issues.
