Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm located in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Litigation Attorney to represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters involving professional malpractice and employment claims. The candidate will attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences, conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations, and draft various legal documents. Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, and/or employment litigation is a plus. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and organizational skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Lexis software is required. The candidate must be Barred in Delaware.

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses, depositions, and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
• Communicate closely with clients during litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports, and advice.

Requirements:

• Must be Barred in Delaware.
• Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, and/or employment litigation is a plus.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Bar admission in Delaware.
