Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Richmond, VA, is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to support its expanding civil litigation team. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated legal professional eager to manage cases independently and play a prominent role in all stages of litigation. The role offers immediate courtroom exposure, including depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trials in both state and federal courts. Hybrid and remote work flexibility may be available for qualified individuals.

Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs

• Take and defend depositions

• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials

• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts

• Strategically develop case plans and settlement approaches

• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on case strategy and execution

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of experience handling civil litigation

• Active license to practice law in Virginia

• Ability to manage cases independently and take initiative

• Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills

• Experience with state and federal court procedures

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar

• Admission (or eligibility for admission) to the District of Columbia and/or Maryland bars is preferred

Skills:

• Proficient legal writing and research capabilities

• Strong organizational and analytical thinking

• Comfortable handling courtroom appearances and trials

• Client-focused mindset with exceptional communication abilities

• Ability to work efficiently in a hybrid or remote environment
